Developer miHoYo has allowed players to pre-load the Genshin Impact 2.7 update, which means that this update will be officially released soon.
In this update, there will be the appearance of a new character, Yelan – who uses the Hydro bow. Information about her skills has been leaked for a long time and it can be seen that Yelan is a very versatile Hydro Sub DPS. In this article, let’s explore the best lineups with Yelan in Genshin Impact 2.7.

Instructions to build Yelan in Genshin Impact 2.7
The best weapon for Yelan
Weapons | Basic Attack | Sub-stats | Passive skills |
Sharpshooter’s Oath | 39 | Crit DMG | Yelan’s damage to enemy weak points is increased by 24%. |
Favonius Warbow | 41 | Energy Recharge | Yelan’s Critical Hit has a 60% chance to generate an Elemental Particle, which will restore 6 mana to the character receiving them. This effect can happen every 12 seconds. |
Fading Twilight | 44 | Energy Recharge | Every 7 seconds, when Yelan’s attack hits an opponent, this bow will move between 3 states, increasing damage by 6%, 10%, and 14%. These statuses can change even when Yelan is not on the field. |
Aqua Simulacra | 44 | Crit DMG | Yelan’s HP increased by 16%. When an opponent is nearby, Yelan’s damage is increased by 20%, whether on the field or not. |

The best set of holy relics for Yelan
Set of holy relics | Bonus of the 2-piece set | Bonus of 4-piece set |
Emblem of Severed Fate | Energy Recharge +20% | Yelan’s Elemental Burst damage is increased by 25% compared to mana charged. Up to 75% bonus damage can be obtained this way. |
Tenacity of the Millelite | HP +20% | When Yelan’s elemental skill hits an opponent, all members’ ATK increases by 20% and shield power by 30% for 3 seconds. This effect can be activated every 0.5 seconds. |
Heart of Depth | Hydro DMG Bonus +15% | After using an elemental skill, Yelan’s basic attack damage and stacked attacks are increased by 30% for 15 seconds. |
Instructions to build sub DPS for Yelan
- Weapon: Aqua Simulacra
- Set of Holy Relics: Emblem of Servered Fate
Yelan has the perfect cards for a great extra DPS. In this role, the player will swap her, use burst and hit enemies with elemental skills, then change to main DPS while Exquisite Throw stays active.
Yelan needs to be charged high enough (if she wants to continue the burst) and has a good Critical Rate/Critical Damage balance. Unless using Raiden Shogun on the team there is no such thing as too much energy for Yelan, so Emblem of Severed Fate (+20% Energy Recharge) is a good choice. The 4-piece set can then use the excess energy to increase burst damage.
Yelan’s best weapon – the 5-star Aqua Simulacra, is unquestionably providing the highest critical damage boost (+88.2%) and also increasing HP.
Guide to build support role for Yelan
- Best Weapon: Elegy for the End
- Best set of holy relics: Noblesse Oblige
Instead of maxing out his damage, this build allows Yelan to completely focus on increasing damage to active characters. Elegy for the End increases mana charge and allows Yelan to deal additional damage to allies by hitting opponents with her skills and explosions. Elemental Mastery bonus is up to 200 and maximum Attack bonus is 40%.
Build support for Yelan focuses on keeping her burst attacks going, so Noblesse Oblige is a great pick in the relic set. It increases burst damage by 20% and party member’s attack by 20% after activating Yelan’s burst.
The best Yelan combo
Yelan Vaporize Team
Hu Tao + Yelan + Kazuha + Zhongli
With Yelan acting like Xingqiu, she could replace Xingqiu in Team Hu Tao. This allows the player to slow Xingqiu on the second Abyss team if needed. Although C6 Xingqiu is more useful, Yelan’s damage is still better. One of Yelan’s passive buffs increases the active character’s damage while the fury skill is active, up to a whopping 50%.
Hu Tao is this team’s main DPS, triggering a powerful Vaporize response to Charged Attacks. Zhongli supports Hu Tao with her shield while Kazuha groups enemies and increases Vaporize damage with her buff.
Players can replace Kazuha with Sucrose and Zhongli with Noelle. Hu Tao prefers shielding over healing, as she always has to keep her HP below 50%. Players need to obtain Tenacity of the Millelith for Zhongli and Venerer placed on Kazuha to increase damage/reduce res.
Yelan Permafreeze Team
Ayaka + Shenhe + Yelan + Venti
All characters with the Hydro off-field app can work very well on Permafreeze teams, and Yelan is no exception to this rule. The player can use any Permafreeze duo, such as Ayaka/Ganyu DPS and Shenhe/Diona/Chongyun, as Cryo Support in this team.
Yelan’s main role is to use his abilities and apply Hydro so that the main DPS can freeze enemies permanently. Ayaka or Ganyu will freeze enemies with their full set of skills.
A full 5-star team with Shenhe as Cryo’s support would be best, but that requires a lot of luck and investment. The team’s final position can be any character, but players should avoid players who can activate Shatter (claymore, polearm and Geo users), as they will break Freeze. A pin character like Anemo Traveler, Venti or Kazuha can take the position.
Yelan Electro-Charged Team
Raiden Shogun + Kujou Sara + Bennett + Yelan
Raiden Shogun is currently the strongest character in Genshin Impact, and Yelan can definitely support her in the Electro-Charged team, replacing Xingqiu. In this team, Raiden Shogun will be the main DPS with the support of Yelan and Kujou Sara. She also gives Yelan energy regeneration, making her burst more stable.
Kujou Sara can be the highest level support for Raiden Shogun if it reaches C6. Otherwise, gamers can replace them with other support characters like Kazuha or Fischl. Bennett is the final piece, helping the team heal and increase attack power. Players can deal massive damage with Raiden’s burst if they deal with it with Yelan’s passive.
