Materials for making fishing lures
In the current Genshin Impact there are a total of 6 types of lures, each of which will require different requirements or materials to craft. How to collect materials for fishing bait
After the player knows what materials each type of bait requires to make, it is also important to know how to find and collect them. Because the world of Genshin Impact is extremely large, players need to pay attention to find and buy bait materials at the following locations and locations:

To create fishing lures in Genshin Impact, players must find lure recipes by visiting the Fishing Association in each region. What gamers need to do is catch Medaka fish to buy bait.
To catch Medaka fish, check out the fishing locations in the Genshin Impact interactive map in HoYoLAB, which will show where to look for this fish. Once the recipe for the bait is obtained, the player can begin the process at the Crafting Bench.
How to use fishing lures
Gamers can only use lures in Genshin Impact’s Fishing System. Once you have the bait in your inventory, attach it to the fishing rod and go to the designated spots to catch fish. The most suitable fishing rod to use depends on the player’s current area.
Genshin Impact will only allow the player to select the type of bait that is currently usable at the fishing spot. Just choose one of the available lures and set your fishing line.
How to use bait to catch each fish
Fishes using fermented bait (Fruit Paste Bait)
The recipe for the Fermentation Bait obtained in the world quest, Exploding Population. The player will then be able to craft a set of 10 with 1 Sunsettia and 1 Wheat. By using Fermented Bait, the player will be able to capture Medaka and all its variants.
The salmon colored medaka is one of the most common fish, found in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma. Purple variants like Glaze Medakas can only be found in Inazuma, while yellow-orange variants Sweet-Flower Medakas can only be found in Liyue.
Some fish will need Paimon’s help to change the time in the game accordingly. Medaka variants, such as Dawncatcher and Crystalfish, are more difficult to catch than fish of the same species. While they can be found in Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma, they will only spawn during certain hours. Dawncatcher only spawns between 18:00 – 6:00, while Crystalfish from 6:00 – 18:00.
Red baited fish (Redrot Bait)
Players will be able to get the Redrot Bait recipe from Mondstadt Fishing Association’s Nantuck in exchange for 3 Medaka fish. To craft this set of lures, the player will need 1 Dendrobium and 1 piece of chicken, which can be easily obtained from Aloy.
Redrot Bait attracts Sticklebacks of all variations. All variants of Stickleback fish are available between 18:00 – 06:00 (except the red Akai Maou variant). Akai Maou can only be found in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma between 06:00 – 18:00.
The blue variant – Lunged Stickleback can be found in Inazuma, while the purple variant – Venomspine Stickleback can be found in Mondstadt. As for the orange variant, the Betta can be found at the Liyue fishing spot. One of the most difficult variations to fish is the ice blue Snowstrider, which only spawns in one location – Dragonspine.
All fish use False Worm Bait
Recipe for Fake Worm Bait is also available from Nantuck in exchange for 3 other Medaka fish. This lure requires 1 Slime Condensate and 1 Berry to craft 10 lures at once.
It is used to catch Butterfly fish and variations. The Raimei Angelfish can be traded at the Inazuma Fishing Association for The Catch – a powerful weapon option for Raiden Ei, and its refined ingredients. It is one of the most difficult fish to catch as only a few spawn per world at a single fishing spot between 18:00 – 6:00.
The rest of the Butterflyfish variants can be found between 06:00 – 18:00. Brown Shirakodai can be found in Liyue while Purple Shirakodai can be found in Inazuma. Tea-Colored Shirakodai are found in Mondstadt as well as the Dragonspine fishing spot. Pink variant – Abiding Angelfish can only be found in the fishing spot of Liyue, located on Mount Aocang.
Fishes that use fake fly bait (Fake Fly Bait)
Fake Fly Bait is the ultimate bait offered by Nantuck. After exchanging 3 other Medaka fish, the player will be able to use 1 Sakura Bloom and 1 Horsetail to craft this bait from the given blueprint.
With the release of the Enkanomiya region, this bait now attracts 3 different fish species with two variations each. The Fake Fly Bait can be used to catch Golden Koi and Rusty Koi, available in limited fishing spots in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma during all hours.
The remaining fish are more difficult to catch, so the player may need to spend more time trying to catch them. The puffer fish and its variant, the Bitter Pufferfish, are also available at select fishing spots in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma.
The newest fish, Divda Ray and Formalo Ray, can be found in Enkanomiya. Since there is no sun in Enkanomiya, these fish are always available regardless of Whiteninght or Evernight.
Since there are many species of fish, players can use the number of fish caught through Genshin Impact’s cooking mechanism to create items. The player can also display aquarium fish in Lake Serenitea using the interior, Lake Sapphire Grace.
In addition, these fish can be used to trade with Fishing Associations from each respective region for rewards such as new fishing rods. These fishing rods contain different effects when used that gamers should not miss.
How to get fishing rod in Genshin Impact
