Buy and upgrade cards
Cards are unlocked by completing items in Yearbook (story), open rewards Flying Car and join Magical Studies (use keys and gems in gacha system). Similar to RPG equipment, cards in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened can be upgraded using gold and duplicate cards.
Collect cards with Magical Studies
Use the keys to start spinning the gacha in Basic and Advanced Studies is another way to guarantee receiving tokens. The odds of rare cards are quite low, but accumulating enough gacha spins will guarantee a rare card 20 times in Advanced Studies. Basic research will only give 1 rare card after 30 spins.
Gamers need gems to keep spinning gacha after running out of keys. Never use gems for Basic Studies banners but only for Advanced.
Convert and customize decks
Players can create multiple decks of cards and customize them for the gameplay they aim for, for PvP and PvE. Building a deck will require testing to see which cards perform better in some situations, although there will always be cards labeled as top tier.
But as a new player, beginners don’t have many options and have to use the basic cards they get from Yearbook and Magical Studies. To check the cards you own, click Charms and edit your deck, choosing which ones to use in battle.
Choose the right card for the deck of each mode
Once more cards are unlocked, it’s easier to sort out which decks are better suited for PvP than PvE. For example: Crucio will work better in a PvE deck (against bosses) since it automatically targets the first enemy and relies on the stacking mechanism to reach full power.
In contrast, similar cards Protego Totalum creates a shield around allied units, blocking some of the enemy’s spells, so great in a duel (PvP) situation.
