Comprehensive guide to building Shikanoin Heizou

Skill: Heartstopper Strike (CD: 10 seconds)

  • Press: Punch forward, handle Anemo DMG.
  • Hold: Prepare a stronger hit, gaining 1 stack of Declension every 0.75 seconds, holding up to 4. The more stacks, the higher the damage. At max stacks, Heizou’s ability gains a Conviction effect that makes his attacks stronger and increases AoE. Declension stacks by triggering the vortex response.

Heartstopper Strike is Heizou’s main method of dealing damage. Combined with his A1 talent, he can deal decent damage with 1 max stack. If you put all the E through the vortex reaction, the player can touch the E and still get the full effect.

The stacking effects last for up to 60 seconds, even when Heizou is out on the field. Players should level up Heizou to 90, as the spin DMG will increase depending on the level.

Burst: Windmuster Kick (CD: 12 seconds)

Heizou leaps into the air and unleashes an explosive kick that deals AoE Anemo DMG damage and knocks out nearby enemies. When it interacts with Pyro/Hydro/Electro/Cryo, the opponent will be affected by Windmuster Iris.

Iris explodes and deals AoE of absorbed elemental damage to up to 4 enemies. An opponent cannot be affected by multiple Iris at once. In general, Heizou’s Burst should be used to set his skills.

Passive breakout

  • Paradoxical Practice: When activating the spin reaction while on the field, Heizou gains 1 stack of Declension.
  • Penetrative Reasoning: When Heizou’s skill hits an opponent, all allies (apart from Heizou) gain 80 EM for 10 seconds.

Heizou’s destiny and priority talent

Palace of Destiny

Overall, Heizou’s C1 is the most useful, as he often comes into the backcourt when supports use their off-court skills. It also gives Heizou an extra Declension stack, making combos more consistent.

The rest of the zodiac signs are not so strong, except for C6. If the player gets to C6, Heizou’s Heartstopper Strike will be able to deal some insane damage.

Priority talent

Heizou is a DPS character that mainly deals damage with his powerful elemental skills. The player should max it out first, then focus on his basic attack and fury skill.

The set of holy relics for Heizou

Viridescent Venerer x4 is the best set of holy relics for Heizou that no other set can match. The chopped 40% RES makes this set extremely valuable in most situations. In addition, gamers can use Viridescent Venerer x2 + Gladiators’ Finale x2 if it is difficult to get good stats on their Veneer shards.

Main stats for the holy relic set

The following 3 options are best for Heizou’s main stats:

  • Elemental Mastery/Anemo Damage Bonus/Elemental Mastery.
  • 3x elemental mastery.
  • Attack Rate/Anemo Damage Bonus/Elemental Mastery.

Secondary stats for the holy relic set

Most of the secondary indicators are very simple. Players want more EM when facing multiple targets and more attack or riot rate when facing a single target.

  • Prioritize multiple targets and (or) high % ATK from primary weapon/stat: EM > ATK% > Crit.
  • Prioritize a target: Crit ≥ ATK% > EM.

The best weapon for Heizou

The most effective formation with Heizou

Standard Electro Charged

  • Shikanoin Heizou + Yelan/Xingqiu + Yae Miko/Beidou + Fischl/Kuki Shinobu

This formation deals steady damage using Heizou’s constant spin interactions with off-court DPS. The use of Xingqiu, Beidou and Fischl makes members quite friendly with each other. In fact, Fischl can keep up with Beidou and Yae’s ER problems.

Players can also replace an Electro character with Bennett, as his healing and buffs are always useful. Kuki Shinobu has always been the best healer for the Electro-Charged team.

National Heizou Team

  • Shikanoin Heizou + Xiangling + Xingqiu + Bennett

Heizou can easily become the main damage dealer in this lineup. Everyone will need Emblem Of Severed Fate x4 on Xiangling and Xingqiu. This group is suitable for both single and multi-target. Players who already have a National Team just need to add Heizou and start fighting.

However, it is also a weakness, as Xiangling + Xingqiu + Bennett are characters that are often played and can cause problems for other teams.

Heizou Double Hydro

  • Shikanoin Heizou + Yelan + Xingqiu + Bennett/Zhongli

This team has very strong single target damage, with the support of both Yelan and Xingqiu. Bennett will buff better, Zhongli provides shield and petrifies. It has the same weakness as National Team, as Yelan and Xingqiu are both commonly used characters in teams.

Heizou Anemo Team

  • Shikanoin Heizou + Jean/Anemo Traveler + Zhongli + Bennett/Yun Jin

This is an interesting team that enhances Heizou’s personal DMG, but is generally not recommended as the best lineup. Anemo Traveler cuts 20% Anemo RES at C6, Jean cuts 40% at C4. Of course, players can still run both for fun.

Yun Jin provides Geo resonance + basic attack bonus DMG while Bennett heals and boosts. Zhongli is just the last flexible option.
